Dr. Jenny Chavez was born in Los Angeles, California and raised in Houston, Texas . She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sport Science from St. Mary’s University, then went on to receive her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of the Incarnate Word. Since 2015, she has been practicing as a licensed Doctor of Physical Therapy, helping patients reclaim their mobility and confidence through evidence-based, personalized care.
Her journey into physical therapy began long before grad school — it started on the soccer field. As a child, Sunday mornings meant waking up to the sound of her father cheering on Chivas FC in the living room. Inspired by his passion, she joined her first soccer team at the age of 6 and went on to play with various club teams across Houston. Her dream was clear: to one day play professionally.
But in 2007, a torn ACL changed everything. The injury required surgery and a long, challenging recovery that sidelined her from the sport she loved. Missing out on a crucial year for college recruitment was devastating, and for a time, she feared losing the part of herself that identified so deeply as a soccer player.
That experience, however painful, became the foundation for her purpose. Over 15 years later, Dr. Chavez has embraced her new identity — not on the field, but in the clinic — as a dedicated physical therapist helping others navigate their own recovery journeys.
Through her personal story and over ten years of clinical experience, Dr. Chavez brings empathy, resilience, and deep expertise to every patient she works with. Her passion for movement, healing, and community is what fuels Route 2 Recovery and its commitment to transforming lives from the inside out.
